Aren’t we lucky?

We were ‘LIVE’ on Blue Peter on World Book Day after being chosen from 12 schools across the whole country who had voted in the

‘Blue Peter National Book Awards’

So, how did we get here?

As you know, and as you may have gathered from our school website and our school logo, we LOVE reading at Clifton. So, what better way to embrace our love of reading that to apply to be judges of the ‘Blue Peter Book Awards’? After completing an in-depth application form, we were one of only 12 schools in the whole country to be chosen to officially judge – we couldn’t believe it!

We were kindly given class sets of all the short-listed books: three fiction and three non-fiction:

We had to read and judge each of the books in school before sending our results to Blue Peter. This, in itself was a huge honour! However …

The announcement of the winners coincided with World Book Day so we dressed up as our favourite book characters.

We had the most wonderful day: having a full tour of the studios; having a posh lunch out; meeting the winning authors; meeting the Blue Peter presenters and production team… even meeting the Blue Peter dog!



It was one of the very best days we have ever had in Clifton School’s history! Something we will treasure forever!
